Leading the Way to a Smarter, Safer Future

PCBI – Where The Story Began?

Vision, courage, and passion. Originally, Janne Puranen, Anssi Kinnunen, and Taina Ahti-Aalto worked at Rittal, where they gained deep expertise in the field of data centers. Their career paths next led them to Coromatic, the leading Nordic company in critical infrastructure – particularly in the design, construction, and maintenance of data centers, backup power solutions, and telecommunications systems. Coromatic offered a front-row seat to what critical infrastructure can be at its best. At the same time, a question arose:

“What if things could be done differently?”

In 2020, PCBI was born – a company whose name captures what its founders believed in then and still believe in today: Progress, Commit, Build, Innovate.

Over the Years, Shared Projects Have Borne Fruit

The birth and growth of client companies have provided a unique opportunity to get to know both the businesses and the people behind them. According to CEO Janne Puranen, strong relationships of trust have been built alongside the work. “That is the most genuine and effective way to collaborate,” he states.

For over a decade, PCBI’s growth has been shaped by friendship, family ties, and joint projects. The result is a company whose values – Progress, Commit, Build, Innovate – are not just words, but are reflected tangibly in its partnerships, projects, and mergers.

“The merger of PP-Putki and Sähkö SASP with PCBI has further strengthened the company’s capabilities. Today, we are an exceptionally strong integrator in the field of critical infrastructure and data center operations,” says Puranen.

Electrical contracting became part of the business when Janne’s father, Seppo Puranen, joined the team. An experienced professional, he continues to work for PCBI as a subcontractor despite being of retirement age. “This house is full of expertise built on decades of experience and shared effort,” Janne adds.

Changing World – Enduring Expertise

As the world and markets evolve rapidly, so must operating models evolve as well. The growth phase of data centers is driving demand. Digitalization is advancing inevitably, and data centers have become one of the most critical components of modern society – the infrastructure on which our digital everyday life depends.

PCBI operates in a specialized and narrowly defined market, where differentiation is based above all on high-quality, customer-oriented service, CEO Janne Puranen explains. Solution-oriented thinking and flexibility play a central role – “We know our customers’ systems, needs, and expectations.”  This understanding enables PCBI to act not just as a service provider, but as a truly value-creating partner.
